As an educator, Ben uses a unique teaching approach that covers both aural and visual instruction. Being able to play by ear and read music are very important skills that all great musicians must have. Students studying with Ben will receive the skills they need to perform in improvisational situations as well as music reading skills that are required in most live or studio situations. He has been hired to teach drums and percussion in the DFW area since graduating from high school. Some of the schools he has taught at include James Martin High School, Arlington High School, Bailey Jr. High and South Grand Prarie High School.
As a performer, Ben has experience in many different musical styles. He has performed with the UT Arlington Jazz Ensemble/Combos (2007-2010), UT Arlington Wind Symphony (2007-2010), Brookhaven College Big Band (2010-Present), El Chico Latin Jazz (2011-Present), First United Methodist Colleyville Praise Band (2010-Present), Dallas Cowboys Rhythm & Blue Drumline (2010-Present), Six Flags Over Texas as a Rollerblade Drummer (2010), and the Boston Crusader’s Drum and Bugle Corps (2009).
